BMBF funds 6G Hubs

On June 29, 2021, it was officially announced that the BMBF, under the leadership of Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek, will fund 4 6G research hubs, including the Open6GHub, with up to 250 million euros.
Under the leadership of project coordinator Prof. Hans Dieter Schotten, the Open6GHub is being funded with up to 68 million euros. In the focus of the Open6GHub is a holistic 6G system that meets the needs of users and society beyond 2030. The goal is to provide contributions to a global 6G harmonization process and standard in a European context that takes into account German interests in terms of societal priorities, while strengthening business competitiveness and technological sovereignty, as well as the position of Germany and Europe in the international competition for 6G.
